Submissions for the GCAP 2016 Student Showcase are now open!
Sponsored by League of Geeks, Minimega, the Interactive Games and Entertainment Association (IGEA), NNOOO, Well Placed Cactus, Robot Circus, Township Tale, The Secret Lab and Defiant Development, the Student Showcase is an initiative intended to highlight a selection of the best student work happening in Australia to the games industry at large.
We are looking for games that impress, inspire and beguile; games that innovate, extend and surprise. Games that are polished and achievable while still showing us something interesting and new.
This is an opportunity to show your work to the Australian industry, get feedback and get some practice exhibiting your game at an event.
There are 6 slots available, and each winning project will receive 1 free full pass to GCAP to exhibit their game, learn, and network.
Nominations are open until the 30th September, and successful nominees will be notified by the 7th October.

Nominees must be 18 and older.
Nominees must be enrolled full or part time at an Australian tertiary institution. This applies to all team members.
Only games developed after September 1st, 2015 are eligible to enter.
There is no limit on team size, but be aware that team size will be taken into account during the judging process.
Nominee teams must be entirely located within Australia.
Nominees must provide a valid email address.
Nominated games must be playable at the time of submission, even if a playable build is not submitted.
Nominees must have a Lecturer/Coordinator guarantor, to confirm they are enrolled.
Winners must have a representative available to exhibit the game at GCAP. This representative does not have to be a member of the development team.
All winners will be selected by the Student Showcase Committee based on nominations received during the nomination period. The Student Showcase Committee comprises external experts, with a strong knowledge of the game development industry.
